Well here I am. I finally broke down. About 8 years ago I started eating bagels, then about 4 years ago I started drinking grossly overpriced coffee that contained words like "latte" and "venti". Now I have joined the ranks of the bloggers. The 16 year old me would seriously beat the crap out of the current me. I mean I have gone so soft.
I mean I have thought about doing one of these for a long time. But I have always had two hesitations. 1) Isn't it kind of prideful to assume that anyone would want read what I have to say. 2) What qualifies me? In response to the latter, I realized "What qualifies anyone?" These are new times when anyone can be heard and express their opinion. We don't have to wait to push a script and an idea through Hollywood, just throw it on Youtube for millions to see. We don't have to go to Pendant Publishing (Seinfeld) to get "published", just throw your pseudo-insightful crap on the internet. I mean any and everyone can and does have a blog and therefore has a forum and a voice. I mean check out Kevin Barbieux, and his "Homeless Blog" http://thehomelessguy.blogspot.com/. By the way I think this is awesome, and offers great insight. Housewives, prisoners, CEO's, pastors, lumberjacks, handicapped, all have created blogs and have a voice. So, What qualifies me? The same thing that qualifies any of us. The fact that we all have a unique story to tell, and that story needs to be heard. No matter how much pseudo-crap it is filled with.

Hey Hughes, In response to your blog, I wondered what qualified me to leave a comment on a blog? Anyway, I like that you mentioned the "Kingdom of God" in your profile. I've totally loved using the kingdom as a central filter through which I evaluate my life and youth ministry. Our mission statemtent is actually "your kingdom come". I miss you dude and hope things are going well. Brad
Dustin, welcome to the land of blogging. I am certain I am not qualified to blog, but it allows me to vent and ramble on about whatever the heck I want. I look forward to adding your blog to my "regular" reads. I know I can always count on you for deep thoughts with a humorous twist! I am sure Brian will post a comment when he gets home. Cintas filters won't let him into blogs at work.
